I was at this one. One of Sarah’s last gigs I think. Cardiacs were supposed to just play for one night, which was heaving and brilliant, but the next day the band the Marquee booked originally didn’t turn up, so back came Cardiacs for another go. I got a phone call saying “come to the Marquee again”, so off we went.
Unfortunately, it was a very small audience, mostly of people expecting to see the band who didn’t show up, and consequently didn’t like Cardiacs very much and threw what Tim described as “dirty toilet” at the stage. Afterwards we went to the pub together, which was nice.
