Compiled and designed by Aaron Tanner, Cardiacs: A Big Book and a Band and Whole World Window follows our heroes’ artistic journey from their formative years as Cardiac Arrest to their last single, Ditzy Scene. The book features rare and unseen photos, artwork, and other ephemera that has surprised and delighted members of the band, even, so you’re going to be in a right state, let’s face it…
…The introduction was written by Tim’s long-time friend and steadfast Cardiacs’ fan, Shane Embury (Napalm Death) and contains testimonials from Cardiacs family members as well as some BIG NAMES like Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle, Faith No More), Billy Gould (Faith No More), Todd Sucherman (Styx), Dan Mongrain (Voivod), J.G. Thirlwell (Foetus) and many more! Having read it, I would say that in all truthfulness, and with a will to prepare even the toughest nuts amongst you, it’s highly unlikely that you won’t have a little cry as you leaf through.
That ought to be enough but there is a lovely extra treat tucked into the back of the book: a 7″ single featuring ‘Aukamakic/Dead Mouse’, from the sessions of their 1979 debut, and a remastered version of ‘Faster Than Snakes with a Ball and a Chain’. Get the effington in!
